An imaginative fundraising initiative has been devised by the TNA equipment group, which is offering a prize draw to win a flagship Robag vertical form fill and seal system in a bid to raise money for disadvantaged children, reports Neill Barston.

The ‘Packed with Purpose’ event, which is being staged by the Nadia and Alf Taylor Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the business, will be offering a 1 in 200 chance for people to gain the sought-after machinery.

As the company, which is set to take part in this month’s Snackex event in Stockholm, explained, the prize draw for the $200,000 piece of machinery, will see the first 200 people to put their names forward with donations of $1,500 or more, in with a chance of winning its star prize, which has become a centrepiece of its portfolio across the confectionery and snacks manufacturing market.

The grand prize draw will take place on 25 July 2024, and the winner will receive the world’s fastest VFFS solution, the tna robag (featured below at last year’s Interpack (pic: Neill Barston), which operates at significant speeds of up to 250 bags per minute combined with wastage as low as 0.1%. It provides superior flexibility and enhanced serviceability for maximum up-time, and bags just about any type of food application faster and more efficiently than anyone else.

Speaking to Confectionery Production at a previous edition of Gulfood Manufacturing, company co-founder Nadia Taylor, who explained that the past two decades establishing the charitable foundation with her husband have proved especially memorable and rewarding.

Consequently, she added that the company has looked to be as creative as it can in continuing to raise money for communities in Africa, with educational outreach a large part of its work.

Dave Everett OAM – CEO, the Nadia and Alf Taylor Foundation, said: “At a 1 in 200 chance, the odds of winning the tna robag® are unbelievable! The important point here is that by donating, you are making a big difference to underprivileged children around the world who would otherwise go without the chance of a decent education. There is no downside that we can see, just a chance to contribute directly to a great cause and win TNA’s market leading packaging system in the process.”
