Caobisco extends team with new industry sustainability manager

European confectionery trade body Caobisco has recently enhanced its ranks, after appointing Alicia Bellon Moral as its new sustainability manager for the industry, reports Neill Barston.

The organisation is set to play a significant role in our upcoming World Confectionery Conference on 5 October at the Harrogate Convention Centre (see website here: www.confectioneryconference.com to register), with corporate environmental and human rights responsibilities high on its agenda.

Joining this summer, Alicia graduated in International Relations and Translation and Interpreting from the Comillas Pontifical University in Madrid and holds a master’s degree in European trade and climate diplomacy from the LUISS School of Government in Rome and the Centre international de formation européenne (CIFE), specialising in circular economy policies in EU trade agreements.

Before arriving at the organisation, she worked for the European association of foodservice packaging and as public affairs consultant in Brussels. She has experience having worked at the European Parliament’s Committe on International Trade, Peru’s Trade Office in Madrid and the Spanish Consulate in Los Angeles.

“Caobisco has placed sustainability at the core of the association. Hence, CAOBISCO team is very pleased to welcome Alicia as a Sustainability Manager to tackle the many sustainability-related topics in a proactive way which we are sure Alicia will cover brilliantly,” says Muriel Korter, Director General of Caobisco.
