Lindt & Sprüngli celebrates honours for first ever oatmilk bar at Sweets & Snacks Expo

Lindt New NON-DAIRY Oatmilk Offering Receives Innovative New Product Award at the 2022 Sweets & Snacks Expo
Global chocolate business Lindt & Sprüngli’s US division is in celebratory mood after achieving the Most Innovative New Product Award for Chocolate at the 2022 Sweets & Snacks Expo for its first-ever non-dairy oatmilk bar series, writes Neill Barston.
As previously reported by Confectionery Production, which covered this year’s 25 anniversary event in Chicago, the Swiss-founded firm was among many sector enterprises claiming honours recently at the annual industry event.
This year, the winners were selected from more than 300 new candy and snack entries across thirteen categories judged on factors including taste, packaging, innovation.
“Our consumers are at the heart of every Lindt chocolate product. We wanted to create a non-dairy, plant-based chocolate bar for them that was as smooth-melting as our premium milk chocolate, so they did not have to make compromises,” said Neha Goel, Marketing Director at Lindt & Sprüngli. “We’re honoured to be recognised by our peers at the National Confectioners Association and can’t wait to hear consumers’ reactions as this new innovation rolls out nationwide.”
As the company noted, its OatMilk Chocolate Bars received the top award in the chocolate category. They are available in two flavours – a classic line and a further offering in salted caramel. Both have been developed with taste, smoothness, and creamy texture as key elements. The OatMilk comes from gluten-free oats.
With these two new additions, the series of bars now provide consumers and plant-based enthusiasts with the first non-dairy, milk-style chocolate bar available at mass grocery retailers nationwide. They are available online and at retailers across the US in individually wrapped 3.5oz bars (SRP: $4.49).
