tna launches data collection software for improving machine efficiency

An innovative data collection and reporting tool for manufacturers in the food industry including the confectionery sector, has been launched by tna.

The Australian-headquartered business has developed its system to provide manufacturers with insights into all their production processes.

As the company explained, its intelli-sys iPS 3 software, enables manufacturers to use a single, standardised platform to collate, visualise and evaluate live and previous information from the entire production chain and across multiple locations.

By integrating data from every process and at every site in a single -plant management system, the tna intelli-sys iPS 3 has been designed to help increase visibility and reduce administrative tasks.

It has also been developed to optimise processes and improves traceability, resulting in a smarter, more transparent and ultimately more profitable manufacturing process.

The system is compatible with both PLC and PC-based technology, tna’s integrated production system (iPS) integrates with existing tna and third party equipment.

In addition, the software has been designed to be scalable, transparent and cost-effective, providing users with visibility of the production line, either locally or remotely through a simple, user-friendly web-capable interface.

Owing to the system’s real-time data acquisition capabilities, faults are detected much more quickly than humanly possible, ensuring downtime and waste are kept to an absolute minimum, while food safety and product quality are maintained at all times.

According to the company, collation of detailed historical data, such as batch scheduling, tracking and tracing used for both internal communication purposes is also possible.

“Inefficiencies in the food processing industry are vast and can occur at every stage of the production cycle,” said Chris Jones, product manager, controls, tna.

“In many instances, these efficiencies are caused by miscommunication between plant management and the production floor. Our new tna intelli-sys iPS 3 is a huge step up in the evolution of real-time data management technology as it ensures that all departments have access to the same set of data.

“By using a single tool to monitor and report on production efficiencies, managers and operators can quickly identify which areas require attention, take action and ensure that all products and processes are within specification.

“The platform’s unmatched ability to collect detailed, standardised and reliable data from every part of the production process provides advanced control over the entire work flow for a safer and more efficient production process, making it a real asset to any plant.”
