Thanks for a highly enjoyable and engaging 2023 World Confectionery Conference

This week’s blog has a very simple, clear message, and that is one of thanks to everyone who helped make this year’s World Confectionery Conference held last Thursday in Harrogate UK, a genuine success.

We could not have asked for more in terms of the quality of presentations on the day, which were all of an exceptionally high standard, which was very much reflected in the feedback that we have received in the days since the event was staged. (see our exclusive video review of the 2023 conference here).

Our show very much continued in its original mission to place a spotlight on the whole value chain of the industry, from equipment and systems, through to ingredients and finished product news and trends, which shone through in the discussions and debates that were had on the day.

I was personally very heartened to see all the many exchanges between attendees at the event, who had braved notably challenging conditions to be there on the day, with industrial rail action scheduled that week which was something entirely out of our hands.

But in true determined fashion, the industry, including event exhibitors, assembled for what was a highly memorable day of conference presentations, topped-off by our annual awards, which were gained by a host of worthy winners across the industry, which formed a fitting finale. A special thanks is also due to Sophie Jewett, MD of York Cocoa House for organising the activities for the second, optional day of the event in neighbouring York, which offered an informal, yet highly entertaining culmination to this year’s event.

It’s been especially encouraging to hear the personal message from all those who were there last week, so thank you once again – we are actively working on our plans for next year, so watch this space for developments for the the next chapter, as Confectionery Production prepares to mark its momentous 90th anniversary in 2024.
