After experiencing several highly successful shows and sector gatherings over the past few months including Cargill’s House of Chocolate last week in Belgium, there’s no doubt that the live events industry is well and truly back.
With that in mind, preparations for our own World Confectionery Conference are continuing to gather pace and we’re now three months away from the major industry showcase that is set to be held in Brussels on 9 September 2022.
Everything from industry sustainability in supply chains and enhancing equipment and systems efficiencies, through to ingredients and finished product developments will be on the table, so this really is designed as a celebration of our entire industries across sweets, snacks-based markets.
So please don’t miss out on your chance to be part of what we are anticipating will be a particularly special event this year as our first physical show, after our well received debut event went online last year amid the pandemic.
We’re seeking to build on the great start that our 2021 showcase gave us in taking a step back into the live arena event, for which our group has a strong track record with across the food and drink sector.
The success of this year’s show will very much rest on the involvement of our readers and subscribers, so I would personally urge as many of you as possible to get involved and register now for the event if you haven’t already done so. You can do so here directly through our World Confectionery Conference website.
Linked to the event are our World Confectionery Awards, which aim to celebrate achievements during challenging times across five core categories of sustainability, equipment innovation, team achievements, ingredients innovation and finished product developments, so please don’t be shy in continuing to put forward your own nominations (these are free to enter). Simply fill out the official entry form here with a short description of why your nominee deserves to gain an accolade, and we shall very much welcome your engagement.
Each supplier can nominate a maximum of one company innovation into each of the awards, and will be carefully scrutinised by our expert editorial panel that will include independent judges, with an opportunity for the industry to contribute through voting during August, with a presentation for our accolades planned as part of the World Confectionery Conference in Brussels on 9 September.
These are your awards and we would love to hear from you so we can mark your achievements across industry after two of the most challenging years imaginable. So don’t delay in getting in touch, as we are intending this to be a genuine positive celebration of all that has happened within our industries in spite of the tests that have impacted on the world in recent times. I shall look forward to learning of your entries. Neill Barston, editor, Confectionery Production magazine
