7 September 2010 – Swedish confectionery firm Cloetta has issued redundancy notices to 28 employees at its factory in Ljungsbro. The company says that the job cuts are a result of increasing efficiency following machinery investments and falling volumes in its manufacturing joint venture with Fazer.

Established in 1862, Cloetta has two production units and produces 20,000 tons of confectionery. Its best known brands are Kexchoklad, Center, Plopp, Polly, Tarragona, Guldnougat, Bridge, Juleskum, Sportlunch, Utvalda Favoriter, Mums Mums and Extra Starka.
