Flavour and fragrance company Givaudan has opened a new laboratory and office facilities in Pakistan as part of its strategy to invest in high growth markets by 2020.

Located in Karachi, the 800 sq mt facility will offer flavour application services for sweet goods, snacks and beverages.

Givaudan, which claims to be the first global flavours company to open in Pakistan, says customers will benefit from a faster response to their requirements as well as access to fully Halal-compliant international flavour profiles. They will also have access to Givaudan’s capabilities and training for local technologists and manufacturers.

“With a population of 200 million and strong growth potential, Pakistan fits with our overall 2020 strategy of investment in high growth markets,” says Givaudan CEO Gilles Andrier.

Faizan Kalim, commercial director of Pakistan for Givaudan Flavours, adds, “This demonstrates our ongoing commitment to our regional and local customers to meet the growing needs for innovative products and great taste experiences.”

Givaudan has recently opened offices in Guatemala, Ivory Coast and Algeria.
