18 November 2010 – A well-respected confectionery consultant has won this year’s Alfred Stauder Award for Excellence.

John Lee, who has worked with numerous confectionery companies over his 30 years in the industry including as technical manager at Darrell Lea, was chosen as the winner of this year’s award.

In its 25th year, the Award recognises an individual’s significant contribution to the

confectionery industry in the form of research, development and marketing of business. “A commitment to excellence in all areas of the confectionery industry in Australia is a hallmark of this year’s winner,” Ai Group Victorian Director and Principal Advocate Ai Group Confectionery Sector, Tim Piper, said.

“John is very deserving of this award for his contribution to the confectionery industry. He is much sought after locally and globally for advice on product development and processes, incorporating best practice safety, compliance, innovation and training,” Piper says.

The award was presented at Ai Group Confectionery Sector’s Congress Industry Dinner in Melbourne.
