Oreo creates an out-of-this-world prize for latest cookie series

Oreo is encouraging fans to take one giant leap for snacking kind with its latest galaxy-inspired cookie offering the chance to win a stellar prize of a journey with spaceflight experience company, Space Perspective, reports Neill Barston.
The Mondelez-owned brand has partnered with the high-tech company, which has claimed to have developed the ‘world’s only carbon neutral spaceship’ powered by a hydrogen-based space balloon, which rises slowly to the upper edges of the earth’s atmosphere.
Passengers reach a height of 100,000 foot during the six-hour flight, that its creators have stressed has used none of the conventional rocket technology that has been used for previous generations of space flight, with minimising environmental impact at its core.
As Oreo noted, it is aiming to allow one lucky customer the chance to dunk its famous cookies in space for its latest product campaign, as the it continues to enhance its market share in the US and other territories around the world.
Its limited-edition Space Dunk variety is stuffed with layers of blue and pink “cosmic creme” with a marshmallow flavour, infused with popping candies that create a supernova bursting sensation with each bite. Each cookie features one of five galactic embossments and, for the first time ever, a small cut out in the cookie itself, allowing fans to peer into the colourful cosmic creme. The new series will be available for presale starting January 23 at liftoff.OREO.com, the OREO Space Dunk cookie packs will begin rolling out at retailers nationwide starting January 31 for a limited time.
Moreover, the new offering follows hot on the heels of a major release this month of a new gluten-free flavour addition to the series, which the company has revealed has come directly from increasing demand from consumers with specific dietary requirements.
In a further development, the company also confirmed the release of limited edition Black & White Cookie as well as permanently introducing OREO Peanut Butter Cakesters to its portfolio.
