Cama Group confirms keynote speaker for the World Confectionery Conference 2022

Italian-based packaging systems business, the Cama Group, has confirmed that Wim Kruikemeijer, area manager for Northern Europe has been designated as the company’s keynote speaker for our upcoming World Confectionery Conference.

The business has worked across a broad range of industry segments, with especially strong representation within the confectionery and snacks sectors, which will be discussed with its presentation for our event on 9 September 2022.

This year’s debut live World Confectionery Conference at the Marriott Hotel, Grand Place, in Brussels Belgium, is set to bring together the full spectrum of our industries’ supply chains, from equipment, systems and ingredients, through to finished product representation.

With a number of major names committed to the event including Ferrero, Tony’s Chocolonely, Caobisco European trade association, Baker Perkins, Innova Market Insights and Kerry Ingredients, it is set to be an engaging and dynamic event. So don’t miss your chance to engage with it by registering to attend and nominate your most worthy companies at our accompanying World Confectionery Awards through our dedicated website.

As Cama explained, the themes for its presentation will bring to the fore the company’s response to continual innovation in product and packaging formats (for both mass production and small batch), more dramatic packaging & product reveals and the growing use of sustainable materials and packaging that leads to regular variations in packaging styles and formats

Since 1996, Wim has been working in secondary packaging industry. He started as manager service and spares for a mayor Dutch manufacturer of secondary packaging systems. From there, he gained additional experience as a global sales leader for a firm processing systems in the petfood business, before returning to his first love of packaging.

In 2012, Wim started his own business as an agent in secondary packaging. He started working with Cama as an agent for The Netherlands and now he has been appointed as Cama Northern Europe Area Manager, with a specialism in packaging systems.

Commenting on his confirmation at the WCC event, Confectionery Production editor Neill Barston said: “We are very glad to have the support of the Cama Group for our debut live event after the success of our initial online showcase last year. There will be a great diversity of relevant topics for the industry to engage with at our show, with sustainability once again being at its core across the entire value chain.

“Wim’s expertise in the secondary packaging segment, which is a critical element of our industry, will be of great interest to so many businesses across our combined sweets, snacks and bakery industries, so we look forward to welcoming him to be part of our event in September.”
