Loacker set to launch key peanut butter wafer ranges at Sweets & Snacks Expo

Italian-headquartered confectionery group Loacker is set for a major launch of new peanut butter varieties of its Quadratini, Classic Wafers, Tortina and Gardena series at the Sweets & Snacks Expo in Chicago, US, next week, writes Neill Barston.

The key range extension will be among a number of significant releases destined for the influential show being staged at McCormick Place between 23-26 May, supported by leading international brands and suppliers including Mars, Hershey, Ferrero, Barry Callebaut and Cargill, as well as attracting exhibiting interest from a number of global industry players.

As Loacker revealed, its latest line innovation is made with 17% real peanut butter, with each confection being lower in sugar but high in flavour, designed as a ‘better-for-you’ treat. The company confirmed that the new series has also been granted Non-GMO Project verification status, alongside its core Loacker Quadratini and core Loacker Classic flavours.

Quadratini Peanut Butter is a bite size snack in a sharing pack that boasts five light, crispy wafers, enriched with a pinch of cocoa and four scrumptious layers of pure peanut butter cream filling. Available in 125g and 250g options.

For its part, the Classic Wafers Line, which is an individually wrapped on-the-go snack, offers a combination of three crispy wafers, enhanced with a dash of cocoa and two layers of velvety pure peanut cream filling. Available in 45g and 175g. In addition, Tortina Peanut Butter is an individually wrapped premium snack developed for as an indulgent treat, covered in milk chocolate and filled with pure peanut butter cream. It is available in a 125g format. Last but certainly not least is Gardena Peanut Butter. Loacker’s signature wafers are filled with peanut butter filling and covered by milk chocolate, available in 38g and 200g options.

All Loacker products are made with ingredients of certified origin. The brand’s Alpine milk is completely non-GMO and is processed at their Dolomites Milk production plant. Hazelnuts, a cornerstone of Loacker’s specialties, are 100% Italian and roasted directly in-house. The company also sources cocoa and vanilla from carefully selected sustainable farm partners.

“We are thrilled to debut our extensive Peanut Butter rollout,” says Jenny Fernandez CMO/VP of Marketing Loacker USA. “Loacker continues to provide consumers with the flavours they crave, while maintaining its commitment to using only the best possible ingredients.” The Peanut Butter flavour collection will be available at specialty retailers, grocery stores, and online on Amazon and Loacker.com.
