Beyond Good ethically-founded chocolate brand unveils latest Ugandan series

Ethically-focused bean-to-bar chocolate maker, Beyond Good, is launching its 73% Toasted Hazelnut Single Origin Uganda Cocoa bar, having successfully developed processing facilities in Madagascar.

Building on the existing popularity of chocolate and hazelnut flavour combinations among consumers, the company considers its latest release as its favourite yet.

The bars are Direct Trade-Certified which has been done to ensure farmers wages are significantly above those paid under other certification programmers. In addition, its ranges are also vegan, gluten fee, soy free, kosher, and project non-GMO verified.

Furthermore, cocoa for this bar is sourced from Budibungo, a town in the far western region of Uganda, where the company works directly with cocoa farmers to provide 100% transparency in the chocolate-making process and allow farmers to earn a larger portion of the profits.

It aims to commission another chocolate factory in Uganda to enable it to continue making sustainable, quality chocolate at the source.

Tim McCollum, CEO and founder of Beyond Good, welcomed its latest series. He said: “Uganda Toasted Hazelnut excites us for a couple of reasons.

“The Hazelnuts pair well with the Uganda base chocolate. The flavour combination itself is unique. And, big picture, this builds on the success of our single-origin mission, and enables us to expand our supply chain impact in new ways.”
