World Confectionery Awards set for Brussels conference presentation

With deadlines due, this week’s blog is very much a simple one of thank to all those who have engaged with our awards for this year’s World Confectionery Conference taking place on 12 September.
As we have found on our travels around the globe, there remains a notable level of innovation that has continued to be unveiled at key early shows in the year including ISM in Germany, and Sweets & Snacks Expo in the US, which has been reflected in the entries for this year’s event.
Our awards, which are now in their third edition, offer a chance for the sector to celebrate their latest innovations across finished product, ingredients, sustainability and ingredient categories, as well as a freshly-introduced emerging enterprises category marking newer entrants into the international market.
The very reason for us setting up these accolades three years ago was to offer the industry a chance to celebrate some positive aspects of being industry amid the challenging backdrop of the Covid-19 pandemic – so we have found the response this year notably heartening.
It’s been great to hear from a strong representation of the industry for this year’s accolades – though we regret that it seems a limited number of entries didn’t quite make our final deadlines in order to be judged, but we hope that will spur the sector on to be involved next time around.
