Coder capable of high speed

19 April 2012 – Able to cope with high speed production lines, the SmartDate X60 prints codes on a variety of substrates.

Featuring a long life printhead, the SmartDate X60 can print at pack speeds of up to 1,000mm per second at full 300dpi. It is also capable of full resin printing at up to 600mm per second, which means codes will not rub off.

The standard 1,100m ribbon reduces waste by 20% and the long lasting printhead drastically reduces downtime.

The coder features advanced dead dot detection. Damaged dots are displayed on a screen and the affected field can be moved to avoid the failed dots. This prevents having to replace the head or accept poor quality codes as is the case with some other manufacturers equipment.

Markem-Image can offer the thermal transfer coder with 18 months warranty as standard along with the option to extend it to 60 months – in fact the printhead is guaranteed and will be replaced free of charge within the first year or 60km of ribbon if a single dot fails.
