A key strategic move has been confirmed by equipment and systems group, Probat, as it seeks to enhance its US operations, which are set to be centralised in a new Dallas site, reports Neill Barston.
Notably, as the business explained to Confectionery Production, the initiative is part of a consolidation of its activities in the region, as it seeks to drive efficiencies and foster collaboration across industries.
The group, which includes Scotland’s McIntyre Chocolate Systems, has unveiled its strategy for the region, with the new site bringing together teams that were previously based at Probat’s, Inc.’s Lincolnshire location in Illinois, Bauermeister USA’s Memphis location in Tennessee, and AC Horn’s Dallas location, creating a unified hub for innovation, production, and customer engagement.
Furthermore, the business believed that streamlining its operations for North America would unlock a strong new chapter of growth for the company, as it continues to build its presence in the region.
“Operational excellence lies at the heart of our corporate strategy, motivating us to enhance customer satisfaction and improve our processes continuously,” explains Wim Abbing, Probat’s CEO. “Bringing our US locations together is an important step toward increasing efficiency and strengthening our overall performance in the North American market and beyond.”
As the company noted, the relocation of the sites has been carefully planned to ensure the optimal use of existing infrastructure and to leverage the high level of vertical integration at the current AC Horn production facility in Dallas. By housing key functions under one roof, Probat aims to improve communication, accelerate decision-making, and strengthen collaboration between its group companies.
Speaking about the company’s approach to the upcoming relocation, Ellen Nielsen, CEO of Probat, added: “We place a strong emphasis on aligning our economic objectives with social responsibility in every initiative. As part of this commitment, all employees were offered individual opportunities to shape their future career paths, based on the roles they previously held within the organisation. We are also taking great care to ensure that the transition for everyone is as smooth and seamless as possible.”
