Equipment business Omron unveils new UK team leader

Equipment and systems group, Omron International Automation Europe has named Marc Ioannidis as General Manager UK & Ireland, as the business expands its activity in the region, writes Neill Barston.
The company, which has more than 90 years of history to its name in the sensing and control segment, has devised solutions for a wide range of businesses across the confectionery market in its history.
Its latest manager succeeds Sam Tilley, who is now General Manager Nordic Countries. In this role, Marc reports to Vince King, Sales Director North and Emerging Region, and is responsible for leading OMRON’s UK & Ireland operations, driving growth, and strengthening the company’s position in key markets.
As the firm explained, with more than 25 years of experience in the automation sector, Marc joined OMRON in 2008 and has held a series of senior sales and channel management roles, most recently serving as General Sales Manager for the UK & Ireland. Over the past 17 years at Omron, he has played a pivotal role in developing strategic partnerships, expanding market reach, and delivering customer-focused solutions.
Marc Ioannidis noted that the chance to lead the team was a key opportunity as it seeks to drive further growth.
He said: “I’m honoured to take on this role and lead such a dedicated team. The UK and Ireland remain dynamic and innovative markets for industrial automation, and I’m looking forward to building on our strong foundations to deliver further success for our customers and partners.”
