The World Confectionery Conference has unveiled a special additional guest speaker for this year’s event, Benedict Daniels, Ritter Sport’s managing director for UK & Ireland, as we begin our two-month countdown to the much-anticipated industry gathering.

This year’s event takes place on 5 October at the Harrogate Convention Centre, with this being the final opportunity to make the most of our Early Bird visitor rate, so for a special discount of £30 off day entrance, contact our advertising manager, Chris Meer at [email protected] by 5 August.

As our previous exclusive video interview with Benedict Daniels revealed he has greatly enjoyed playing his part in building-up the British division of the famous German chocolate confectionery company, which claims well over a century of manufacturing experience from its origins near Stuttgart. The firm, which is renowned for its classic square design, originally created to fit into the shirt pockets of those enjoying sports activities, has seen its presence grow significantly on a global scale, particularly within travel retail.

Notably, as Ben Daniels has explained, the company’s strong ethical approach and development of distinct sustainability policies in terms of its 100% sustainable certified cocoa, has played a strong part in its overall identity, with the company continuing to make its mark on the British confectionery scene.

The company’s UK office operates from Leeds, Yorkshire, within touching distance of our own World Confectionery Conference location of Harrogate, and has continued its pipeline of innovation, including recent launches for two new 100g bars, the Ritter Sport Salted Caramel, and Orange varieties, which have further bolstered its core range.

Editor Neill Barston welcomed Benedict to the event. He said: “We are very glad to have bolstered the ranks of our conference further with the addition of Ritter Sport, which has a proud heritage of ethical sourcing policies within the industry, which I think will offer a strong and inspiring story for attendees to share at this year’s event. We sincerely hope that as many of our readers and subscribers will engage with our event, and if you haven’t as yet had chance to do so, there’s just a short while left to take advantage of the special attendance rate, which ends this weekend.

“Don’t miss out on the chance to be part of an event that includes a mixture of enterprises right across the industry’s spectrum, from Cargill, Nestle and Ferrero, through to Caobisco European confectionery trade body, FMCG Gurus insights, Fairtrade, Luker Chocolate, Baker Perkins and Cama Packaging, through to sustainability focused organisation Farmforce, and plenty more besides, there are many reasons to be part of this year’s event.” For additional details, visit www.confectioneryconference.com
