The National Confectioners Association completed its Halloween activities in fine style supplying treats for a special White House celebration including President Joe Biden and the First Lady, who hosted a key community event for invited guests, reports Neill Barston.

As the NCA explained the evening on Monday included representatives from a wide spread of public services, and saw the nation’s leader greet local children of firefighters, nurses, police officers, and members of the National Guard at the White House for trick-or-treating.

During the event, children and their parents walked through the “President and First Lady’s Neighborhood” up to the South Portico of the White House where they received treats from the President and First Lady (pictured), and other White House “neighbours”, including representatives from the Department of Education, Department of Transportation, NASA, United States Secret Service, Peace Corps, White House Fire Brigade, White House staff, and White House Military Office.

The event on The White House grounds will welcome about 4,000 people, with the NCA glad to play its part in providing the chocolate and candy treats for the event, featuring products made by top American candy-making companies.

In addition, there was also some further spooky-themed entertainment in the form of  Disney characters in attendance including Doc McStuffins and Vampirina, PBS Kids characters Daniel Tiger, Donkey Hodie, Alma, and Xavier Riddle, and Star Wars characters Darth Vader and Storm Troopers, will also stroll through the “President and First Lady’s Neighbourhood” for the Halloween festivities. The White House is decorated for Halloween with autumnal foliage and fall colours, and a silhouetted neighbourhood of homes and community buildings will illuminate the South Portico.
