Gerhard Schubert unveils latest iteration of TLM Lightline

As one of the opening moments of this year’s interpack, Gerhard Schubert provided a notable showcase for several packaging equipment lines, including a newly-enhanced TLM Lightline system, writes Neill Barston.
The system, which was originally unveiled several years ago, has now been uprated further, designed for a range of packaging tasks across confectionery and snacks fields, with a reported speed of up to around 480 products, such as biscuits, handled per minute.
As the company noted, businesses are facing challenges due to intense competitive pressure and a shortage of skilled workers. Easy-to-use, speedy solutions are essential for survival in the market. Therefore, as the company noted, firms that can pack products with efficiency.
In addition, as the company observed, from the picker line to the cartoner, all lightline machines can be preconfigured for specific product scenarios and to cover simple packaging tasks extremely efficiently. The latest additions include case packers for wrap-around and tray-and-hood applications.
All machine modules consist of TLM standard assemblies. This means the quality customers have come to expect from Schubert, experienced project planning and fast implementation – at attractive investment costs.
Moreover, a lightline cartoner for energy bars, for example, can manage up to 60 boxes or 480 products per minute with single-lane erection of the box blanks.
Tog system
In addition, as the company observed, packaging that can be optimised for specific functions save valuable time. The TOG series offers a real advantage thanks to its fully standardised individual modules that can be networked together in line with customers‘ future needs. Instead of rebuilding or redesigning an entire line, they can make adjustments where necessary – quickly and without costly programming time.
Maximum performance from the cell: Schubert‘s A3 erector, in the form of the TOG Erecting Unit, delivers its high performance of up to 60 boxes per minute where there may not be a Schubert cartoner.
The output is much higher for pick & place applications too. This is made possible by our AI-supported TOG Cobot which works faster than any other solution on the market at up to 90 cycles per minute. Thanks to powerful image recognition, it reliably picks up even unsorted products and places them, for example, on conveyor belts or in trays. Additional TOG units are in the pipeline for tray destacking, filling and sealing. See our interpack preview interview with Marcel Kiessling (below)
As the company noted, the easily connectable and readily available units work together with other lines. This is teamwork at its best, hence the abbreviation “TOG” for “together”.
