Fudge Kitchen celebrates decade of key manufacturing facilities

UK confectionery firm Fudge Kitchen has marked a decade of its advanced manufacturing facilities in Kent, which has enable considerable expansion of its product range, writes Neill Barston.
Confectionery Production has previously visited its core manufacturing location near Canterbury, and its expansion has been made possible through vital funding from a £35 million Regional Growth Fund.
As the business noted, when it opened its latest facility ten years ago, it created 10 new jobs in the area, and the team has now doubled currently standing at 21. Fudge Kitchen MD, Sian Holt, won a £110,000 interest-free loan from the Expansion East Kent scheme – using money from the £35m Regional Growth Fund – to enable the project to go ahead. The firm was identified as having high growth potential by BSK-CIC, the Rochester-based business support organisation, and given advice throughout the bidding process.
Fudge Kitchen initially began in the 1990s with fudge shops in Blackpool and Bath before expanding to another 4 historic UK cities. The confectioners set up the Aylesham production site to develop a new wholesaling arm of the business, allowing them to export and sell internationally.
The production site, located in the heart of the Kentish countryside, has been a hub of innovation and excellence in confectionery manufacturing since its inception. Over the past 10 years, the dedicated team at Fudge Kitchen has worked tirelessly to create a wide variety of sweet treats that have won them a long list of accolades and awards.
