Oterra moves to further expand natural colours series with new caramel range

Global natural colours group Oterra, has moved to further extended its range with a new caramel offering, further boosting its international portfolio for sectors including confectionery.

In May 2021, the company, formerly known as Chr Hansen, announced its acquisition of SECNA Natural Ingredients Group S.L., which was one of the largest producers of colour from caramelised sugar.

Following the integration process surrounding that deal, Oterra has added a full range of caramel products, and its caramel range covers caramelised sugar, all four classes of caramel colours, and is available in liquid and powder forms.

The extended range, available in an assortment of strengths, makes it ideal for use in a wide range of applications, including beverage, dairy, bakery and confectionery, amongst others. All products are fully certified and accredited, including Non-GMO, Halal and Kosher, as well as Low 4-MEI options.

With the business recently expanded further, it is now considered among the largest providers of naturally sourced colours worldwide. As the company added, since its first launch was revealed back in 1876, it has utilised the power of nature’s true colours and championed that natural is best.

It has continued to play a key role in colours for food, beverage, dietary supplements to help manufacturers bring appealing products to consumers around the world. The company’s focus has been on empowering partners to meet demand for safe, sustainable and natural food ranges, with confectionery remaining a notable element in its operations.
