It’s a wrap for 2025’s ISM and ProSweets shows

Bastian Fassin welcomes Mercosur possibilities
After four action-packed days, the latest editions of ISM and ProSweets have come to a close, with plenty of creativity and innovation being displayed across both key shows.
Confectionery Production was on hand to do its part as a media partner for the event, speaking to a diverse range of businesses from across the globe at the show.
From machinery and ingredients developments that paved the way for next year’s Interpack, through to Japanese ‘superfood chocolate,” audiences from around the world soaked up the occasion, underlining that these shows remain at the heart of the confectionery sector.
As the events’ directors enthused, there’s been an especially strong sense of connection between the events this year in light of the New Product showcase being staged within the ProSweets Hall, which also hosted a particularly compelling series of talks and discussions.
Indeed, it appeared to be a fairly late confirmation that turned out to be one of the highlights of the show for its opening, in which a series of senior industry figures gathered to discuss the challenges of the recently struck Mercosur deal between Europe and South America. This holds major potential across the complete food and drink sector, including confectionery, provided that clear and fair guidelines are rolled-out swiftly. After 20 years of political wrangling, it is very much an overdue development.
Many other key topics also came under the microscope, from AI in confectionery, through to delivering a living income for farmers, and the emergence of Dubai Chocolate as a serious confectionery force for the Middle East, made for a very memorable event indeed.
A big thanks to all those who gave there time over the past few years- look out for our coverage online and our fast-approaching March edition of Confectionery Production for a full review of the two major events.
