Ingredion joins with distributor Univar for natural solution Gulfood Manufacturing launches

Global ingredients group Ingredion is set to exhibit its latest breakthroughs in food innovation at the key Gulfood Manufacturing event in Dubai, including a number of natural product solutions, writes Neill Barston.
In collaboration with its distributor, Univar, the company is primed to unveil a range of natural, healthy and more sustainable offerings designed to offer major innovatino within food production, including for confectionery and snacks.
As the business noted, the colourful Middle East food scene has become more nuanced and diversified as health, wellness, ethics, sustainability and convenience all become key considerations for food and drink consumers across the region. As awareness around food ethics and provenance grows, Middle Eastern consumers have become more receptive to vegan and plant-curious diets, with 50% of UAE foodies prioritising nutritional content and ‘naturalness’ of their food and drink.
One of the highlights of Ingredion’s presence at the Gulfood Manufacturing event will be the spotlight on their plant-based proteins and sugar reduction solutions. Recognising the escalating demand for ethically sourced, nutritious options in the Middle East, Ingredion’s value-added reformulations are poised to be at the forefront of this rapidly evolving market.
In line with global efforts to promote healthier living, Ingredion will be showcasing its delectable products, featuring plant-based ingredients and sugar-reduced content prepared by Principal Culinologist, Kevin Alder.
The tasting menu will include Vegetarian Lamb Kofta, egg-free Tahini Mayo (featuring NEST, a citrus fibre), sugar-free Chilli Ketchup and fresh Cream Cheese, served with Protein Crackers. For a sweet finish, there will be a no added sugar Chocolate Dessert with creamy topping and a Crème Brulée. Drinks will include a sugar-reduced, non-alcoholic Cosmopolitan and a reduced sugar Mango Juice.
The event will also host a discussion as part of the Food Tech Summit with Senior technologist Amine Layouni addressing barriers and breakthroughs in ingredient innovation in today’s uncertain economic climate.
