Haribo-owned confectionery brand Maoam has placed a core theme of delivering nostalgic memories for its latest series, Stripes Jelly and Ice Cream, aiming to deliver a modern take on a classic party treat.

The fresh new addition to the range was delivered as the company conducted a study of more than 2,000 Brits in order to determine their favourite flavours for the company’s ongoing product development.

As the business noted, its latest series combines two key tastes; creamy vanilla ice cream with the sweet tang of blackcurrant, raspberry or strawberry jelly. Sold as a limited-edition range, the products were created with childhood birthday parties and memories of celebrations in mind – with such occasions being highlighted as a key influencing factor in consumer spending.

The research also uncovered how kids’ birthday parties have changed over the years, with many consumers still remembering party games, birthday cake and party foods such as jelly and ice cream as the core memories from their childhood birthday parties.

Georgia Gardner, Assistant Brand Manager at Maoam, said: “Our new limited-edition range combines the delicious tastes we all remember as well as offering a fresh take on a sweet treat to enjoy whilst reflecting on our carefree birthday party memories.

“Adding to the existing Maoam product range, the Stripes Jelly and Ice Cream joins Stripes, Pinballs, Joystixx, Bloxx and MaoMixx to deliver the chewy treat that consumers know and love the brand for.”

Bags of the new addition to the company’s portfolio retail at £1.25 RRP and are currently available in Poundland and from nationwide stockists such as Sainsburys, Morrisons and B&M as well as many other high street retailers in the coming weeks.
