New to its packed portfolio of premium quality fruit and vegetable ingredients, SVZ’s latest innovative solution, Carte Blanche will be on show at FiE 2022. Featuring white carrot and pumpkin as its star products, Carte Blanche addresses industry demand for natural and versatile bases with functional benefits such as reduced sugar content, neutral appearance, or subtle flavour profile. The new, fully customisable solutions are ideal for a wide array of applications including savoury snacks, and desserts.

“We’re incredibly excited to be unveiling our natural, neutral and nutritious Carte Blanche solution to the industry at FiE,” comments Johan Cerstiaens, Commercial Director at SVZ. “There is a real need for reduced sugar fruit and vegetable bases right now as many manufacturers look to give their beverages, baked snacks and even desserts a ‘better-for-you’ make over. What’s unique about Carte Blanche is that it’s not only low-sugar, but offers a neutral taste and colour profile to help the ingredients that count shine through in recipes. It’s also perfect for adding ‘stealth vegetables’ to products, boosting nutritional credentials without having to sell the idea of veggie smoothies and snacks to sceptical consumers. With this solution, less truly creates more.”

At the show, attendees will also be invited to learn more about c2030, a new initiative which aims to inspire the food and beverage industry to build a healthier, more sustainable future for all. c2030 calls on the whole sector to ‘grow better together’ by elevating conversations beyond just sustainable sourcing.

Instead, SVZ hopes to encourage a more holistic approach to tackling today’s big issues, such as water usage, training and education, soil quality, financial resilience and much more. Through this action, SVZ hopes to inspire its partners, customers and fellow companies to collaborate and drive the industry forward towards a healthier, more ethical tomorrow.

Inge van Disseldorp, Sustainability Manager, SVZ states, “The pressures on the global food and beverage industry are complex, ever evolving and increasingly urgent. We’re all being called on to affect real change for the preservation of the planet, but even more so in large, globe-spanning sectors like F&B. Thanks to our unique position as a bridge between growers and final product manufacturers, SVZ has a huge opportunity to make a tangible difference. With c2030 we aim at opening the conversation with our partners about sustainable agriculture practices and production chains.
