Nestlé roars back with limited edition Lion Bar brownie

Fans of retro British confectionery will be keen to note the arrival of a Nestlé special limited edition of its Lion Bar – which is now available in a new brownie format, writes Neill Barston.

The company explained its latest release features the brand’s classic crispy wafer, crunchy cereal and chewy caramel, enhanced with a brownie flavour filling and covered in smooth milk chocolate.

Lion Bar was originally created in 1976 by Rowntree Mackintosh. Featuring the strapline “Crunch it, chew it. When you feel like a great big bite,” and gained a popular following with its distinctive packaging design.

Brand Manager Amy Kendall said: “We know consumers love Lion Bar for its delicious mix of textures, the chewiness of caramel, the crunch of cereals and the crispy filled wafer. But we also know fans love to try new innovations from the brand, and we think we’ve come up trumps with this one! With a delicious brownie flavour filling, our newest Lion Bar puts an exciting spin on a classic. We’re predicting it will be a roaring success!”

Lion Bar Brownie comes in a multipack of four 30g bars and is on sale now for a limited time in a selection of value retailers, including B&M Bargains, Home Bargains and Iceland.
