How do you react to a toffee cow pat?

Date: 16/09/2010

Job titles can have the most bizarre consequences. My title as editor of a confectionery magazine has made people openly comment on weight issues or lack thereof, assuming I'm scoffing vast quantities of sweets. (More or less true but I generally manage to work it off).
Others have obviously thought of me while on holiday. Last night I was presented with a funny and rather bizarre present from my former builder. He had apparently been in the vicinity of the company Fosters Fudge Tree and had decided to buy me a Daisy’s Dollop – a toffee cow pat. I wasn’t entirely sure how to react as that could say many things about the relationship with a builder who has done work to your house, but I did think the idea is hilarious.
After a day of discussing the impact of nanotechnology on the food industry, the particular relation to chocolate and the unfortunate lack food company involvement in the legislation process, it was actually quite a relief to appreciate being in an industry where we can also have a great laugh in the process.
So here is it, a nice picture of a toffee cow pat for your viewing pleasure.
