Edible coatings range grows

Edible coatings manufacturer Mantrose-Haeuser has expanded its proprietary line of high performance polishes, palm oil free polishes and anti-sticking agents for the confectionery industry.

Included in the new portfolio of coating products are the palm oil free polishes Certicoat 85, Certicoat 40 and Crystalac S. According to Stephen Santos, Mantrose-Haeuser’s VP of research & development: “There is growing awareness among consumers of the environmental impact of standard palm oil cultivation and Mantrose is dedicated to providing high performance coatings with the option of using ‘palm oil free’ labeling.”

Mantrose is also introducing antisticking polishes Certicoat 360, Certicoat 510M and Certicoat 590 ORG, an organic certified coating. According to Mantrose, the Certicoat coatings deliver the ideal combination of gloss and lubrication for starch, pectin, gelatin gums and molded licorice.  Crystalac 4200, the micronised powder blend of natural waxes, can be used to coat hard and soft sugar-shell dragees.
