Tyrrells snap up value for money stretch wrapper

Tyrrells` Glennans division has taken delivery of a Mytho turntable stretch wrapper from Atlanta Packaging. The premium vegetable crisp manufacturer had seen a significant increase in production volume that forced them to look for an alternative stretch wrapping solution. The Mytho was chosen for its versatility, size and excellent value for money compared to the competition.

In December 2011 Glennans was acquired by the Tyrrells group which led to further investment in the Glennans factory. As a result the number of finished goods produced per day increased significantly. Investing in a pallet wrapper would save on the cost of wrapping material, wrap the products more securely and ensure a more professional appearance to the finished goods.

As logistics manager Ian Simkins explains, they chose the Mytho from Atlanta for several reasons. “It is a very versatile machine, using a swing arm instead of a fixed mast. This allows us to use the wrapper in our packing room which has a lower ceiling height, where we would be unable to use a standard mast wrapper. It’s easily transportable and can be positioned within our warehouse as and when we need it. It also offered excellent value for money, as wrappers with the same level of programmable features were significantly more expensive.”

Happy with their investment Simkins goes on to say, “I am really pleased with the performance of the Mytho. The pallets are securely wrapped and are neatly presented.”
