Bagger boosts output
3 April 2012 – The CFS SmartPacker CX250 LowDrop can package up to 200 bags per minute, and can handle 2500g bags.
The machine, from GEA Food Solutions, has a considerably lower drop from the top funnel to the center jaw, which not only enables a greater capacity and faster throughput, but also has distinct benefits for fragile products like hard candy, chocolate, biscuits and cookies.
When used in combination with a 16- to 18-head overhead weigher, the LowDrop configuration has the potential to deliver twice the output of a similar sized vertical flow packer, yet it occupies the same amount of factory floor space and only requires the same number of operators. It also fits into lower buildings with limited overhead space.
