Two heads are better than one

I am delighted that a strong working relationship has matured this week after spending time with the UK Food and Drink Federation’s BCCC sector group. It stands for biscuits, cake, chocolate and confectionery if you were wondering.

As I have mentioned before, they kindly asked me to sit on the organising committee of the yearly conference a few months ago and since then, extending the reach and benefit of the conference has been a key topic.

As many of you will know, particularly those intimately involved with the UK confectionery industry, the conference has been a regular feature for almost 60 years, primarily as a technology conference. While that aspect is important and should be maintained, when the then BCCCA went under the banner of the FDF, it felt that there was room for a broadening of the conference scope. Next year it is set to be more inclusive than ever.

Confectionery Production has teamed up with the BCCC to include a wider range of tabletop exhibitors and expand the conference into a stronger networking event with links from suppliers through manufacturers to retailers and policy makers, creating the most beneficial industry environment for exhibitors, delegates and speakers alike.

We will be sending out more information on this shortly but in the meantime, if you are interested, don’t hesitate to get in touch with Jon Pittock at [email protected] or myself. You can also visit www.bccc.biz for more information.

All the best,

Katrine Kjoeller
