Kraft confirms confectionery category appointment

9 September 2010 – Kraft Foods has confirmed Mary Beth West as its new chief category officer. West has been the company’s chief marketing officer for the last three years.

The new role will give her the duty to head up the confectionery, gum, chocolate and business global category teams in addition to leading the marketing division. She will continue reporting to chief executive officer Irene Rosenfeld. Kraft has not provided further comment.

West’s new role will involve overseeing category teams for Kraft’s recently acquired Cadbury businesses, as well as Kraft’s pre-existing chocolate interests and European biscuit businesses. Prior to taking on the CMO role, West was president of its North American beverage division.
