Kraft transfers part of Romanian sweets production

The Kraft Foods confectionery factory in the Romanian city of Brasov has officially stopped its production, with more than 220 staff to be laid off.

The majority of the production lines will be transferred to Bulgaria, where the company will resume the production of its strongest Romanian brands, including Poiana Chocolate.

In September Kraft announced that it was investing BGN 40 M into the enlarging of the production capacities in a chocolate factory in Svoge, Bulgaria, confirming its strategic interest in Southeast Europe.
