Orchard Valley Foods develops vegetarian marshmallows

In keeping with its all-natural, vegetarian range, Orchard Valley Foods Group has launched vegetarian and vegan-friendly marshmallows.

The €40 million producer of confections, ingredients and decorations for the food manufacturing, foodservice and retail home baking sectors was formed following a recent merger between Orchard Valley Foods and Candeco Confektyr in September.

Approved by both the Vegetarian Society and the Vegan Society, Orchard Valley’s vegetarian marshmallows are said to offer the same performance as standard marshmallows, including freeze-thaw stability in ice cream, tray bakes, chilled desserts and for topping hot beverages.

Fat, nut, soya and dairy-free, the marshmallows are suitable for bakers and caterers wishing to add free-from alternatives to their bakes range.

Orchard Valley Foods’ Vegetarian marshmallows are available in mini, micro and jumbo tube sizes, in pink or white colours and vanilla or strawberry flavours.
