Roha acquires Canadian colours business

Roha has strengthened its presence in Canada by acquiring the food colours business of Cambrian Solutions.

According to Roha, the move will help the company bring focused products to its customers in the North American markets, with its range of colours and specialty ingredients now available directly to its customers in Canada. Roha had earlier setup a fully owned subsidiary in Canada in 2016.

It also represents a further commitment on behalf of Roha into the Canadian market, while also allowing Cambrian to refocus its efforts in other areas of the food and nutraceutical markets.

This is the fourth acquisition for Roha this year, with expansion into various segments of the food ingredients category, the most recent being Italian dry ingredients producer New Foods Industry.

Rohit Tibrewala, CEO of Americas for Roha, says, “Canada is a very dynamic market and consumer preferences are changing fast. To grow in Canada, we have to be in Canada. This is acceleration in our commitment to Canada and its dynamic food and beverage, consumer health and personal care industries. We will continue to make investments in Canada to further strengthen our presence there.”

Mahesh Tibrewala, managing director of Roha, adds, “The acquisition of Cambrian’s food colour division will strengthen our position in North America and help us serve the customers better locally. This development brings us closer to fulfilling our goals set out for the FY 2017-18.”
