Aldomak achieves BRC certification

Confectionery manufacturer Aldomak has achieved A grade certification from the British Retail Consortium (BRC), in a move that will open its products to wider global markets.

The certificate confirms Glasgow-based Aldomak has met the stringent and specific requirements detailed by the BRC for its standards of food safety management system.

The move, it says, will allow the business to tender for contracts across the UK and globally, and is expected to significantly increase turnover, building on its 21% growth this year. It also comes less than a year after Aldomak was awarded provisional entry-level status by the BRC.

The company currently supplies major names with fudge, tablet and macaroons and provides a number of supermarkets with a range confectionery and oat-based products.

Aldomak has also placed emphasis on social responsibility, focusing on the welfare of employees, the ethics of the supply chain and the company’s carbon footprint.

“This latest certification is a great tribute to a great team, who have pulled together to make Aldomak the best in its sector,” says managing director Dario Riccomini.

With more than 17,000 BRC certified sites worldwide and a large network of BRC certification bodies in 90 countries, the organisation’s food safety accreditation is now recognised as a global standard.
