Thew Arnott launches organic wine gum oil

Speciality ingredients supplier Thew Arnott has launched an organic wine gum oil as part of its Aratas range of confectionery coatings.

Wine gum oil is used to stop products sticking together and drying out, creating an attractive appearance whilst also increasing the flow ability of the product to facilitate the packing process. Soil Association certified, the coating is said to enable confectionery manufacturers to make ‘clean’ label declarations on pack.

“With more consumers concerned about the ingredients found in the products they eat, organic certification means that manufacturers of natural sweets have the reassurance that every ingredient, even the oil in wine gums is certified organic and has traceability throughout the supply chain,” explains Nick Hewitt, European sales manager at Thew Arnott.
