All things chocolate

It seems all eyes are on chocolate this month, particularly this week, as we celebrate Chocolate Week in the UK.

Chocolate Week, which runs from 10-16 October, coincides with the London Chocolate Show in London (14-16) October and the Academy of Chocolate’s 2016 conference (13 October). The conference ‘Chocolate in a New Era’, which Confectionery Production is attending, will focus on what is called for from farm to bar to ensure the future of sustainably produced fine chocolate.

With key topics including sustainability, innovation and education, attendees will be able to meet global experts, cacao and chocolate producers; watch master chocolatier demonstrations and sample AoC 2016 Gold Award winning chocolates.

Carrying on with the chocolate theme, last week the iconic Milk Tray Man returned to our TV screens in a new campaign which is based on the original ‘Because the Lady Loves’ messaging.

Set in the Altai Mountains over the Mongolian Steppes and directed by Chris Palmer, the film features stunning views, a golden eagle hunter, thrilling flying sequences, a horde of Mongolian tribesmen and stampeding yak and culminates with our hero delivering the famous Milk Tray box to an exotic yurt in time honoured tradition.

It is set to a dramatic reworking of the iconic Milk Tray theme music and finishes with the classic line ‘And all because the lady loves Cadbury Milk Tray.’
