Anritsu unveils new inspection system

Food safety equipment firm Anritsu Infivis has launched its latest X-ray inspection system, designed to help manufacturers detect foreign bodies and contaminants in products.

The XR75 X-ray inspection system can identify product shape defects and packaging integrity. It also provides product verification simultaneously for missing product, virtual weight, count, package and void checks.

The system is also said to reduce the lifetime cost of ownership by over 20%, compared to other systems, due to Anritsu’s Advanced Long Life Technology. Its angled surfaces prevent water from accumulating after system cleaning and a low output X-ray generator eliminates the need for a cooling system, resulting in 30% energy savings.

Eddie Daniels, Anritsu’s UK sales manager, said: “The new XR75 is extremely versatile and cost-effective technology, which has been developed to offer exceptionally accurate and consistent detection of the smallest contaminants in anything from pasta and cookies to plastic cups and syringes, as well as minimising false rejection rates.”

According to the company, the XR75 is easy to set up and operate as no tools are required for removing/attaching the conveyor belts and rollers, including the front cover and x-ray leakage prevention curtains. X-ray images and inspection logs can be saved to a USB memory stick connected to the front of the equipment for HACCP compliance.
