Chocolate bonanza

I’m in France today, visiting Valrhona’s global centre to celebrate Guanaja’s 30th birthday. And it looks like June will be a busy month all round. I’ll be at the Campden BRI day next week to meet executives from the food, drink and allied industries. Later in the month, I’ll be visiting Choc Edge’s facility in Exeter to learn how everything from 2D face portraits to miniature full 3D heads in chocolate are manufactured.

I’m also dropping by Ragus Sugars’ factory to find out about the latest developments within the company and the wider sugar industry as a whole, as well as the International Cocoa Quarantine Centre, which is run by the University of Reading.

So that’s what readers can look forward to in the July/August issue of Confectionery Production, but we’ll be going to press with the June issue later this week.

Expect all the usual industry news, features and comment, including a look at Turkey’s confectionery market, the increasing demand for natural and colourful products, and the use of specialist ingredient manufacturers to support innovation.

Also included in the issue is a roundup of the sweets and snacks products that were on show at the the Natural Food Show in London and an interview with Emma Walker, marketing director at Walkers Nonsuch toffee brand.
