Ishida MD steps down

Long serving managing director of Ishida Europe, Graham Clements, is stepping down from his role from 4 May 2015, handing over the day to day running of the company to the new managing director and former finance director Dave Tiso. Graham is to remain with the business as chairman to help effect a smooth transfer and will officially retire in May 2016.

“While I am obviously sorry to be relinquishing what has been such an enjoyable and rewarding job over so many years, I know that the business is in good hands with Dave and that he will oversee its continuing success and growth,” comments Graham.

“Dave has gained immense knowledge and experience of Ishida Europe over the past seven years and I am delighted that I will be able to work with him in the next 12 months so that the succession process is completely seamless.”

Graham Clements joined Ishida Europe as managing director designate in January 1989, becoming managing director one year later. During his 26 years in charge, he has presided over the organic growth of the company from a £10m multihead weigher supplier to a £120m integrated packing line equipment business, with a portfolio of machinery that now also includes checkweighers, snacks bagmakers, tray sealers, X-ray inspection systems, seal testers and robotic pick-and-place systems. He also established a manufacturing base for Ishida in the UK, as well as subsidiary offices in France, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Middle East, Russia, Czech Republic, Romania and South Africa.

A chartered accountant from New Zealand, Dave Tiso came to the UK in 1988 to work for Deloittes. He then held senior financial roles in a number of leading multinational companies, including National Grid and Advantica Group, spending time working in Brazil, Chile, the Czech Republic and Poland. He joined Ishida Europe as finance director in 2008.
