Nut trade association formed

The Combined Edible Nut Trade Association and the British Peanut Council formally have joined together to form The Nut Association Limited (TNA).

Open to all companies involved in the supply, distribution and manufacture of nuts and allied products, The Nut Association aims to be proactive in finding opportunities to promote nuts and to address issues that may impact the nut industry.

Incoming chairman of the Board of Directors, Nick Thomas of nut supplier Barrow Lane & Ballard, says: “We want to see the nut industry continue to thrive in this exciting era when retailers and consumers alike are more aware of the health benefits of nuts and are looking for innovative ways to include them in everyday foods as well as enjoying them as snacks. We encourage all companies involved in the nut industry, whether a multinational with operations in the UK or a small start-up company launching new nut products, to join us to help support their business aims.”

Those companies who trade on CENTA Terms & Conditions are advised that these have been adopted in full by TNA and should now be referred to as the Terms & Conditions of The Nut Association (formerly CENTA terms).
