Flavours company rated ‘excellent’

Bell Flavors & Fragrances has announced the recertification of the Safe Quality Food (SQF) 7.2 Level 3 for its manufacturing facility and corporate headquarters in Northbrook, IL, USA. Bell maintained an ‘excellent’ status for the fourth year in a row, continuing to meet standards and a more stringent scoring system. Its recertification also confirmed that employees are well trained, retain information, and communicate well during employee interviews, which is a significant component of the audit.

Thomas G Fortman, vice president of manufacturing at Bell Flavors & Fragrances, says: “Bell has achieved SQF Level 3 Certification with a rating of ‘excellent’ for the fourth consecutive year. We are dedicated to producing the highest quality products that meet the highest standards of food safety. The hard work and dedication of all our employees is evident in our comprehensive food safety and quality management systems.”

John Washburn, director of quality systems at Bell states: “Administered by the Safe Quality Food Institute (SQFI), the SQF certification programme is a leading, global food safety and quality certification programme and management system designed to meet the needs of buyers and suppliers worldwide. This prestigious level 3 certification requires a rigorous third party audit process in addition to an extensive review of policies, procedures and systems. SQF Level 3 Certification provides customers with the guarantee that their products are manufactured by a consistently safe and high quality source.”
